WW1 trip – a SitRep
Leave Coworth Rd
30/4/2010 at 0700 hours
Note: this means “wheels up” “wagons roll” “cast off all lines”
and not
“I’m nearly ready” Thus, Gents, BE EARLY!
We travel to the coast for a 1000 hours ferry – through the Friday morning rush hour via the M25. If we’re early, we’re early – if we’re late we miss the boat !
Full English on the ferry, late lunch or early beer in Belgium
Rule of thumb budget £50 per day food and drink etc
+ ferry (£30 each), petrol (£30 each ?), and B&B (18 euros a night each – total e54 each)
Guesstimate £320 (that leaves PLENTY of slack – I’m guessing)
Return ferry
leaves France 1600 hours Monday
